Join the 30th NCT The Living History Association of North Carolina (L.H.A.N.C.) is a non-profit educational organization that is registered with the North Carolina Department of Archives and History, Historic Sites Section. We are a family oriented reenactment group that portrays American military and civilian life of the 1860s. Women, children, and men, not interested in portraying infantry life, are encouraged to participate through our civilian organization, the Colonel Francis Marion Parker Civilian Alliance. Older male children (14+) wishing to participate may do so through a joint venture with the Boy Scouts of America. Our group has reactivated the 30^th North Carolina Troops (30^th N.C.T.) because of the fine record of service in General Stephen D. Ramseur's Brigade of North Carolina regiments: 2^nd N.C. State Troops, 4^th N.C. State Troops, 14^th N.C. Troops and 30^th N.C. Troops. This brigade served in Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia and was involved in some of the most intense combat of the War Between the States. The ten companies of the 30^th N.C.T. came from all parts of the state.  We are dedicated to expanding and enriching knowledge of the War Between the States and through its programs and services, to bring to the American people a greater understanding of the persons, events, and places that formed our heritage.
